The Italian spared no praise for his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo this week. Shortly after the stalemate between Italy and Portugal, the Juventus defender praised his new club mate, who he claimed could play until he was 40.
"He's unique. he is the bets player in the world, who manages to raise the level of his team. He did not do it in any way in particular, he just did it himself, he got better to the point where he made us all solid," said Chiellini.
He added: "Ronaldo could play until 40 years of age. Moreover, he is intelligent: he arrived to a foreign country, a foreign league, but he immediately tried to understand the team dynamic and integrate."
The defender then confirmed that Ronaldo added some much needed leadership to the side, after the departure of icon Gigi Buffon to PSG.
" He gave us leadership that we lost in the departure of Buffon. A different leadership, that's for sure, but he is someone who has already become a point of reference in the dressing room" Chiellini concluded.
