Romeo Lavia decides to join Chelsea, Southampton to receive £50m

There are many times in life when we get what we want if we work at it. Such is the case with Chelsea's signing of Southampton defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia.

The Blues tried to sign the young Belgian for £50m on deadline day last summer, but the Saints rejected the London club's offer. Despite this rejection, Pochettino's side have taken advantage of the fact that Southampton were relegated to the Championship last season and need to sell to go after their young talent.

In this case, the team chaired by Todd Boehly has once again offered £50 million for Lavia, and it seems that an agreement between the clubs is very close. Moreover, the 19-year-old midfielder is clear: he wants Chelsea.

The former Manchester City player was undoubtedly one of the Saints' key players last season alongside James Ward-Prowse, although both players were unable to avoid a cruel end to the season for their club. Lavia made 34 official appearances, 29 of them starts, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
