It is hard not to like Mo Salah. The forward has gone from strength to strength of late, from scoring the goal that qualified Egypt for the World Cup, to winning the PFA Player of the Year after his remarkable breakthrough season at Liverpool, to bagging two goals in the Champions League semi-final to send his side to Kiev.
One team that would be forgiven for not liking the Egyptian is Roma, though. The Italian side sold Salah for just £36m last summer, and he has now gone on to knock them out of Europe.
However, apart from a bit of rough treatment on the pitch, there is no bad blood on Roma's behalf. After Eusebio Di Francesco's side were knocked out, Roma's Twitter account posted a message of good luck to their former player, showing a touch of class.
The message reads: "It hurts so much that AS Roma’s incredible dream of going all the way to Kiev is over but you’ll be there in your new colours. Good luck in the UCL final Mo Salah #ForzaRoma #YNWA"
The text is accompanied by an image of the forward in a half-Liverpool half-Roma shirt, and it received over 17,000 retweets. It's verging on half and half scarf territory, but the intentions are honourable, so I'm sure Liverpool fans will let it slide...
