Roma confirm Dybala's injury is more serious than expected

Roma's Paulo Dybala will miss the remainder of 2023 with an injury to his left thigh sustained against Fiorentina on Sunday.

Medical tests on Dybala revealed that his injury, which initially appeared unlikely to keep him off the field for more than a week, is more serious than first thought.

The Argentinian will almost certainly miss the remaining four games for the team coached by Jose Mourinho. The Italian club's game against Sheriff in search of qualification for the last 16 of the Europa League, and the Serie A games against Bologna, Napoli and Juventus.

Three fundamental matches for the European places against three teams of maximum demand. Two of them, Napoli and Bologna, fighting for the same objective as them, to get into the Champions League places; the other, against Juventus, against a rival fighting for the 'Scudetto'.

The Argentina international is expected to miss three weeks, so he could soon return against Juventus in Turin, in front of his former team and fans, but he is almost ruled out until 2024.
