...however, Valencia's club president, Anil Murthy, ruled out the transfer of the Spanish international at least four times during an interview on Thursday for "Tribuna Deportiva" on '97.7 Radio Levante'.
"Rodrigo is very important to us, I know that he wants to stay at Valencia and we did not include a buy-out clause of €120m [in his contract] for no reason," Murthy said blunty on the Rodrigo situation.
Real Madrid has trailed the market in search of forwards and Rodrigo appears as a potential option, as Valencia have reinforced their attack with the signings of Michy Batshuayi and Kevin Gameiro.
Murthy, president of Valencia CF, claims there is no chance he will let Rodrigo depart for just €60m or €80m. The Spaniard will only be sold for his release clause. "Rodrigo has a value on the very high market", justified Murthy.
The European champions are studying the possibilities with only two weeks left of the transfer window. Karim Benzema has enjoyed good form so far this summer, but 'Los Blancos' are likely to need for offensive reinforcements before the deadline, especially with Cristiano Ronaldo having left for Juventus.
The list of forwards at Real Madrid currently stands at Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Lucas Vázquez and Borja Mayoral. Rodrigo would increase competition and versatility up front.
