River Plate set to get €35m from Enzo Fernandez deal
River Plate were left licking their lips once Enzo Fernandez' transfer to Chelsea was confirmed. The reason being that the Argentine side have the right to 20% of any future sale.
The club, who sold him to Benfice for €10 million less than six months ago, have got a lot more money than they thought when the midfielder left for Portugal. There had been a lot of talk about how Nunez' side should have sold him for more, but what is for sure is that he came into his own at the Qatar World Cup.
Out of the €121 million that the Portuguese side will receive, River Plate will receive €25 million as their percentage portion, but they also have the rights from training him. In total Demichelis' club will get €35 million for the midfielder's move to Chelsea.
If we add it to the €10 million they got in the middle of 2022 for selling the Argentina to Europe, plus €5 million in add-ons, as well as this sale, River Plate, overall, will have made €50 million for Enzo Fernandez.
