Rivaldo, who was taking part in an event at the Camp Nou, was quizzed on who he would like to see Barca bring in from the English top flight, and he caused no shock with his reply. "Salah," he said. "He's a great player. He is a game changer."
The Brazilian, who made 157 appearances for Barcelona over five years, believes that Salah is nearing the level of Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but he called on the Egyptian to perform consistently.
"If he isn't there, he's close," Rivaldo said when asked if he though Salah was on Messi and Ronaldo's level. "But he needs to keep it up, like they do. I hope he does that as well, in other championships, that it's not just a one championship thing."
The former forward also stated that he believes it is harder to perform in the Premier League like Messi does.
"He has to keep what Ronaldo and Messi kept for 10 years - he's very close now," he stated. "He'll face more difficulties as the Premier League is harder than the Spanish Championship."
