Liverpool will have an absolute mountain to climb as they look to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Barcelona on Tuesday, and their task will be made no easier by the absences of two of their star attackers in Roberto Firmino and Mo Salah.
This leaves just Sadio Mané up front from Liverpool's regular starting XI, but he may not be alone up front for the Reds. In Klopp's squad there is a name that won't have gone unnoticed to the expert eye: Rhian Brewster. The young English striker is yet to make his first team debut, but was the top scorer in the last U17 World Cup in India in 2017.
Jurgen Klopp virtually confirmed his presence, at least on the bench, saying of Brewster's involvement: "He's ready. There is a big chance. It's nearly sure. It's guaranteed".
The German went on to suggest that he could even feature for the Reds: "Rhian has been in just outstanding shape for the last three or four weeks, but the other players were there as well.
"It's just good so now it's really nice in a difficult situation that we can give him that spot in the squad and have him there to bring on as a striker".
"Next season he will be playing 100% and he knows that. I have told him already. When you’re on the bench, you are an option to play" he added.
Brewster, who made a name for himself as England beat Spain in the U17 World Cup final, could really break out onto the scene if he helps Liverpool mount another famous European comeback on Tuesday night.
