Amidst all the doom and gloom during recent times, Selhurst Park saw one bit of positive news to put a smile back on Palace supporters.
A year after a life-threatening car crash, Senegal defender Pape Souare made his return to football having recovered from a potentially career-ending right thigh bone break.
The 27-year-old came on for the 'Eagles' in their Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield, receiving an ovation from the whole stadium upon his return to play.
"It's a bit strange but I'm feeling pretty good," Souare said to 'BBC Sport'.
"It's just working to get my fitness better, so that's the most important thing."
"I was in good hands with the club, the physio team, everyone, so I didn't feel the time pass because they were really taking care of me," he said.
