Return to 90s football? Atalanta goalkeeper wears cap

The traditional image of a goalkeeper with a cap, which seemed a thing of the past, was seen again at the Artemio Franchi stadium in the match between Fiorentina and Atalanta. 2 historic teams in very different situations.

The visiting goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini surprised when he went on the park with a sun cap on. An image that surprised a lot of users on Twitter as it is not seen much nowadays.

It didn't help him to avoid the first goal of the match, scored by the hosts' striker Federico Chiesa. Luckily for him, and for the rest of his teammates, Zapata and Malinovskyi turned the score around.

Atalanta are Valencia's next opponents in the Champions League. The first leg of the last 16 tie will be played in Italy on 19th February and the return match at the Mestalla on 10th March. Gollini won't need his cap in any of the matches as both games will be played at 21:00 CET.
