Arsenal are keeping an eye on Folarin Balogun, a player they have on loan at Reims. The player is rising in value in the market and the Gunners could make money with his transfer in the summer.
The 21-year-old striker was facing two situations that would create uncertainty for him in the coming weeks. On the one hand, his future at club level and on the other hand, which national team he would represent, as he has triple nationality with England, Nigeria and the United States.
On this latest uncertainty, the player is now out of doubt. The U.S. national team announced Tuesday that Balogun would be a new eligible player for the next few games.
The American striker himself explained the reasons for his choice and highlighted the support for the North American team: "My decision to represent the United States came together with my family," said Balogun. "In the end it became a no-brainer, but for sure it’s just something I wanted to do and it feels like I’m at home here.
"To represent the United States means a lot, more than people would know. I’m very proud and honored to have this opportunity, and I want to give everything I have to make our team successful," he concluded.
