Reguilon says tension caused run-in with Messi and Suarez in the 'Clasico'

Sergio Reguilon played down his run-in with Leo Messi and Luis Suarez during the league Clásico. The Real Madrid defender used the tension of a Barca game as an excuse for his attitude.

"In El Clásico your heart's racing at 1000 beats a minute, there's a lot of emotion, you say certain things, but what's said stays on the field; the tension makes you say those things, admitted the footballer during an interview with Spanish radio station 'Onda Cero'.

With this, Sergio Reguilon wanted to play down the controversy of his confrontation with Messi and Suarez during the La Liga clash at the Bernabeu. The defender, overwhelmed by the scoreline, had an argument with the Argentine and the Uruguayan.

Reguilon, who ended up crying after the Copa del Rey clash three days earlier, did not bite his tongue when addressing Suarez and Messi. "Don't touch me, you indeed are ugly," he said to Suarez, replying to something that the Uruguayan had said to him previously. Likewise, Vamos' cameras also caught the left back arguing with Messi. "What? What are you sayng? What's up with you? Pulga, (Messi's nickname) what's wrong with you now?"
