Referee who insulted Klopp accused of filming sexual video with minor

Fresh scandal engulfs David Coote, the referee sacked by the Premier League after a video surfaced of him hurling abuse at Jurgen Klopp. This Wednesday, the 'Nottingham Post' reports that the 43-year-old Englishman has been accused of filming an indecent video with a minor.
According to the British newspaper, Coote will appear before Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 21 September, to give evidence regarding the alleged offences, which date back to 2 January 2020.
Reportedly, the former official allegedly made a sexual video with a minor classified in English law as category A. This is the most serious category, involving minors being sexually abused by adults.
In December 2024, David Coote was dismissed by the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL), the body that manages Premier League referees, after a video circulated on social media showing the referee making derogatory comments about Jurgen Klopp in July 2020.
Coote, who was a Premier League referee from 2018 until his dismissal, called Klopp "an arrogant German son of a b*tch", aggrieved by comments made by the manager during his time at Liverpool. Furthermore, UEFA banned the referee until June 2026 after another video emerged appearing to show him snorting a white powder through a banknote during one of the gatherings at the recent European Championship in Germany.
