With the 25-year-old unlikely to sign a new deal at Anfield, Liverpool have come to terms with the idea that Coutinho will sign for Barcelona sooner rather than later.
The Catalans had three bids rejected in the summer, with the largest worth £113m, but it is understood the La Liga leaders are now preparing a bid of £133m (£97.5m up front plus £35.5m in add-ons).
This time around, it will be different. As revealed by 'As', Liverpool are willing to sit down with Barcelona to agree a deal for his departure. 'Sky Sports' journalist Guillem Balague has followed the ins and outs of the Coutinho transfer saga since its inception and the Spaniard revealed Liverpool's change of heart.
"Liverpool have softened their stance, and are willing to listen," Balague said. "They haven't necessarily put a price on Coutinho, but they are thinking: 'How about if we sold him now?'. All of the possibilities are on the table."
