Cadiz coach Mauricio Pellegrino said on Thursday that they will face "one of the great" teams in Spanish football, a day before visiting Real Sociedad in the La Liga matchday 29 fixture.
Pellegrino told a press conference that the San Sebastian side are "difficult" and highlighted the performance of the Basques in "recent years and their consistency in defence and attack".
The Argentinian manager played down the importance of Real's recent form, with few victories in comparison to previous months, as, in his opinion, "all teams have certain spells" in a season.
Pellegrino indicated that the team coached by Imanol Alguacil "demands the maximum despite the setbacks" they have suffered. For the Cadiz coach, it is "important not to look too much at the opposition", against whom, in his opinion, "you have to do a lot to have a chance" of beating them.
Pellegrino was pleased that the Cadiz team have taken a weight off their shoulders by winning a game after six months, last week against Atletico (2-0), but stressed that it is necessary to "keep adding to aspects that need to be improved".
The victory "did not change anything in the present" for Cadiz, he said, adding that it was "important but not decisive". The Argentinian coach gave the key to trying to beat Real. "Apart from playing well, you have to be effective," he concluded.
