Real Madrid:
Despite a disappointing start to the season losing the UEFA Super Cup against Atletico Madrid, 'Los Blancos' have done well to win their first two league games in convincing fashion as they try to improve upon a poor league campaign last season. Luka Modric will look to prove why he was awarded UEFA's midfielder and player of the season on Thursday.
Youngster Jesus Vallejo is expected to return from a muscle injury, while Mariano will likely be on the bench after re-signing for the club and being presented at the Bernabeu on Friday.
Leganes:
After just hanging on to their top-flight status last season, 'Los Pepineros' have managed to grab a point from their first two games of the season, after losing narrowly to Athletic Bilbao and drawing against Real Sociedad. Nabil El Zhar will be the man they look to for attacking threat in this one.
Former Barcelona winger Jose Arnaiz and Argentine forward Alexander Szymanowski are both thought to be injury doubts, but there are no suspensions for Manuel Pellegrino to contend with in his team selection.
Real Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui on how defensively solid Leganes are:
“They have just one point but could have six because they played well against Real Sociedad and Athletic. They've kicked off the season looking good.
"They're sure to be tough opposition, well organised, with better players than last season and they'll certainly make life difficult for us”.
Leganes boss Manuel Pellegrino on how Madrid have changed under Lopetegui:
"They have a more conventional shape. It's not as chaotic. They have more posession of the ball.
"The old Real madrid were happy when the opposition were on the attack because they could break in an instant. This Madrid side want to dominate the game more"
Prediction: 3-0
