UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin sent a warning to Real Madrid ahead of their Champions League semi-final with Chelsea.
In an interview for Slovenian television, he said "The key thing is the season has already started and the television companies would claim damages and compensation if we didn't play the semi-finales. There is only a relatively small chance the match will not be played next week."
'Marca', after consulting legal experts, reports that UEFA does not have the power to punish Madrid because they have no legal ground to stand on.
Real Madrid have not broken any UEFA laws so any punishment would quickly be annulled by CAS.
