At the moment, and at the expense of Pogba landing at the Bernabeu, Eden Hazard is the jewel of the Real Madrid crown in the current transfer market. The Belgian arrived after paying 100 million -plus variables-, becoming the star of Real Madrid's attacking side that the fans demanded after the departure of Cristiano.
An important signing that, together with those of Jovic, Militao, Mendy and Rodrygo, forced Madrid to sell quite a few other players. The 'Operation Departure' is a reality, especially after a few frenetic days in which Reguilón, Odegaard, De Tomás, Kovacic and most recently Theo Hernandez have all left.
In between the latter three, in addition to Marcos Llorente, Madrid have paid for Hazard's signing. These three sales have meant coffers a fixed amount of 115 million euros, in addition to the variables that Llorente could bring in. Hazard's signing has therefore been made up for before the player has even made his debut.
With De Tomás, who went to Benfica for 20 million euros, Madrid once again made a profti. Despite his excellent season at Rayo Vallecano, the striker had no place in Zidane's plans, so he had no choice but to look for a way out.
There are still more sales to come in Madrid, as James Rodriguez should be announced as a Napoli player soon, and Theo Hernandez becoming a new Milan player. Others, such as Lucas Vazquez or, especially Gareth Bale, remain stagnant.
