'Marca' reports this Wednesday that Real Madrid will not support the European Super League project which is still in its initial stages of planning. At least not how it is reported it could be. Real Madrid do not think the format would be profitable.
Having a competition with three divisions of 32 teams is not a tournament Real Madrid would like as well as it causing numerous changes to the calendar of the domestic leagues.
It is worth remembering that Premier League clubs recently showed their opposition to the new Super League which is losing interest day by day.
Real Madrid have a different opinion on Infantino's Club World Cup though which will see 24 teams, 12 of them European, face off every four years. If the tournament is successful, it could become every two years. Madrid think it is positive both in a sporting and financial sense.
The cited source also says they are sceptical over the four team Spanish Super Cup overseas, but not as much as over the Super League.
