It's likely that Real will capitalise on the lack of playing opportunities Rashford has had under Mourinho, and also his admiration for current Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are both past their thirtieth birthdays, whilst winger Gareth Bale has been linked with a potential move to the Premier League, specifically Manchester United. The potential departure of part of the attacking trio has left club president Florentino Perez looking to revamp his forward squad.
Rashford could well be tempted over to the Spanish side, given that Ronaldo was one of his childhood heroes. In an interview in 2017, the 20-year-old said '''I used to watch a lot of him growing up, all of his games. He was obviously a top player who won a lot of things in his career, so when you know he's saying good things about you then it really stands out.''
It seems as though the Portuguese striker could make an excellent mentor for the forward, having said ''He's a very good young player. I see some of myself in him for sure - he has courage and he's fast and is very good with the ball. I think for the strikers they have to be hungry to score and I see that with him. He has an amazing future.''
Rashford is currently representing England during the international break, and although he will resume club duties with United, the young star has struggled for starting opportunities at Old Trafford.
