According to 'Marca', Real Madrid have reactivated the option of signing Donny van de Beek, given the difficulties they are facing in signing Paul Pogba this summer.
The big wigs at Real Madrid are convinced about the suitability of getting the Dutchman for around 60 million euros instead of spending big on the Frenchman.
While Zinedine Zidane insists and keeps Paul Pogba as his number one target this summer, the club are weighing up various alternatives including Van de Beek. His name has been linked with the club since the start of the summer.
The Ajax midfielder shone last season in Amsterdam as the leader of a team which saw Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong get most of the media attention.
Although Real Madrid will wait until the end of the transfer market in Spain to try and sign Paul Pogba, part of the board are trying to make Zidane understand that the transfer would be very expensive.
Nevertheless, Real are aware that Manchester United are close to signing Milinkovic-Savic and are weighing up Bruno Fernandes and Ivan Rakitic, like for like replacements for the Frenchman.
