Ramsdale admits he's suffering after dropping down Arsenal's pecking order

David Raya is playing a more prominent role at Arsenal since his arrival from Brentford in the summer transfer window. Spanish coach Mikel Arteta has decided that Aaron Ramsdale will play as second-choice goalkeeper despite starting the season with goalkeeping rotations.
The English goalkeeper has shown no disappointment or rejection of his coach's decisions but admitted that he is suffering from not getting playing time.
"Because it’s one of the first times it’s happened with the situation, it has been difficult. There are times where you’re doing the right thing but it’s the wrong thing and if you don’t do it, it’s the wrong thing. So it’s a double-edged sword," he said about playing as a substitute.
The 25-year-old said his relationship with Raya is good and that the two work well together: "We work professionally really well together. We push each other in training and there’s days where I come in and I’m down because of the situation and he picks me up.
"And for whatever reason there might be a day where he’s down and even though I’m suffering and hurting for not playing I have to stand up and be able to push him," he claimed.
