On 9th May 2006, the Alfredo di Stéfano stadium was officially inaugurated, with a friendly match against Stade de Reims, the team who Los Blancos won their first European Cup against in 1956, precisely with a goal from Di Stéfano.
That match was a stroll in the park for Los Blancos. Ramos opened the scoring, with a rebound from his trademark header. Cassano got two, Soldado another two, and Jurado another one.
Out of all of them, Sergio Ramos the only one at the same club, a Real Madrid which 14 years later will return to the Alfredo di Stéfano stadium to make it their home for one month and a half.
There is, however, another Madrid player still at the club, and that is Zidane. The now Real Madrid manager played his last Real Madrid that day on 9th May 2006. He officially said goodbye 3 days earlier, against Villarreal on the last matchday of the championship, but agreed to play under the orders of López Caro, that his last Real Madrid match.
