Nobody at PSG wants to get carried away before it happens, but it seems like Sergio Ramos could finally be back. According to 'Mundo Deportivo', the Spaniard had completed a good week of training sessions, without relapses or setbacks, so he has a chance of getting into the squad for the weekend.
The Parisian club face Lorient at home on Sunday, a game which could help get back on the field of play. His team are Ligue 1 leaders with a 12 point lead over Marseille and 16th placed Lorient could be the perfect opponent to return.
After getting over his first injury, Ramos suffered a relapse two months ago. That made him miss many games including the Champions League last 16 tie with his old club Real Madrid. He has not played a competitive fixture since 23rd January, when he played 90 minutes and scored against Reims.
At almost 36, he is not enjoying a dream season in his first campaign away from the Bernabeu since 2005. In fact, he has only played in five encounters and a total of 284 minutes. They all came in Ligue 1.
Sergio Ramos signed as a free agent last summer after not renewing for Real Madrid. His contract contemplates a second year in his contract, although it remains to be seen whether his situation in the squad improves.
In fact, PSG sporting director Leonardo has had digs at him in the past. "Unfortunately, it did not go as we thought," he lamented a few weeks ago. However, he cleared up that that "he was good physically" when he signed for PSG. "It's difficult for him, for everyone. But our reports are clear," he concluded with some comments which leave all options open.
