Ramos and Bale miss Sevilla game, Benzema returns
Real Madrid will be without Sergio Ramos for Saturday's clash with Sevilla, but they will have Karim Benzema back, the club have confirmed after releasing their 19 man squad for the Sevilla match at the Bernabeu.
Sergio Ramos thought he had fully recovered from his grade two ankle sprain which kept him out of the Super Cup. In fact, the central defender was with the rest of the squad training on Friday.
The captain had rushed to try and be fit for the game against his ex-side. Finally, Real Madrid's medical team prevented Ramos from playing, according to 'La Sexta'.
Zidane will have to rearrange his defence for the match against Sevilla. With Varane as a nailed on starter, it will be Eder Militao who replaces Ramos in the XI against Lopetegui's side.
Who could start the match is Karim Benzema. The French striker missed the Spanish Super Cup through a hamstring injury. This Friday, he completed the entire training session together with his teammates and he has been selected by the French coach.
As well as Sergio Ramos, Odriozola, James and Mariano will also miss out after being in the Super Cup squad. Fede Valverde is suspended after his red card in the Super Cup final for DOGSO.
The squad is the following: Courtois, Areola, Altube; Carvajal, Militao, Varane, Nacho, Marcelo, Mendy; Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Isco; Benzema, Lucas Vázquez, Jovic, Brahim, Vinicius and Rodrygo.
