Ramirez, Lodeira and Valverde dropped as Uruguay name their World Cup squad

The South Americna side had previously submitted a provisional 26-man squad for the tournament, with Tabarez opting to cut Fede Valverde, Nico Lodeiro and Gaston Ramirez from his final squad.
Real Madrid youngster Valverde, who spent last season on loan at Deportivo La Coruña, is considered one of Uruguay's brightest, young talents, but it appears this tournament has come too soon for him.
The omissions of Lodeiro and Ramirez, who have 53 and 43 caps respectively, came as something of a surprise, with Tabarez opting to give his engine room something of a shake-up.
