Racist chants aimed at Weston McKennie during Juventus-Parma clash

Juventus have reported that American midfielder Weston McKennie was subjected to racist abuse from the away end at the 'Bianconeri' stadium, where Parma fans were situated.
McKennie, who played just two minutes in his side's 2-0 victory against Parma, remained on the pitch with the other unused Juventus substitutes to undertake some routine training drills.
It was at this point, with very few Juventus fans remaining in the stadium, and before the Parma fans had been escorted out – standard practice with away supporters – that he was subjected to the racist insults.
"At the end of the match against Parma, Weston McKennie was subjected to discriminatory and racist abuse from some individuals in the away sector, while he was training on the pitch with teammates who hadn't played in the match," Juve confirmed in a statement.
"Juventus vehemently condemns this episode and any manifestation of racism, and will guarantee maximum cooperation with the sporting justice authorities to identify those responsible," it added.
For their part, Parma have publicly condemned the behaviour of their fans: "Parma Calcio, with reference to the events that took place last night after the match played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, firmly condemns any form of racism and discrimination, both on and off the pitch."
"Racial intolerance, or any other type of abusive behaviour, is NEVER tolerable or acceptable and, therefore, must be addressed, combatted and condemned at all times," the club stated.
"President Kyle J. Krause, together with the entire Parma Calcio team, is fully committed to fostering a culture based on fundamental values such as respect, inclusion and equality," concluded Parma's statement.
