Queen's Park to sell Hampden to Scottish FA

'BBC Scotland' reports that Queen's Park have reached an agreement in principle to sell Hampden Park to the Scottish Football Association.

The governing body is reportedly in favour of remaining at the national stadium, with previous rumours of a switch to Murrayfield, provided both parties can agree a deal.

With the lease on Hampden due to expire in 2020, the SFA had commissioned a feasibility investigation regarding the future of the stadium.

Hampden is steeped in history, having hosted Scotland matches since 1906. The majority of Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup finals have also been hosted at the ground.

If Queen's Park had refused to sell, the governing body were preparing to move to Murrayfield, the home of Scottish Rugby, given that Hampden is in need of a significant redevelopment.
