QPR's striker Charlie Austin demands 100% pay rise

The recently relegated London club are coming into conflict with Austin's demands if he is to sign a new contract. With just one year left he could potentially walk free next summer after the club were demanding £15million for him this transfer window.

The striker wants a 100 per cent pay rise alongside a buyout clause should Rangers fail to reach promotion out of the Championship this season. Many were shocked that Austin didn't move to the Premier League because clubs were unwilling to fork out the large sum QPR wanted.

At the moment Austin is on around £20,000-a-week and is looking to secure the same kind of deals former Premier LEague starts such as Leroy Fer and Rob Green had, moving towards the £40,000 mark.

The manager believes that the club stand to make £100million if they reach the Premier League this season, and was not worried that they had missed out on the potential income from Austin's transfer.

“You could lose out on not selling Charlie, but on the other hand you could gain more by him staying and making the club successful,” Ramsey added.

“Either way, as long as the player does what we know he’s capable of, and I’m sure he will, everyone’s happy.” he said.
