The construction of buildings ahead of the 2022 World Cup continues in Qatar. The competition, which will be played in winter for the first time in history, will also be the most sustainable World Cup to date.

For this purpose, it was determined that each sport facility contains 850,000 square metres of green space around it. Also, in their own stadiums, they will adopt more responsible and renewal measures.

According to a report from 'AS', 90% of the stands at Al Rayyan will be built out of recycled material. Moreover, 40% less water was used in the manufacture of these materials than is normally used.

The stadiums will also use energy saving lights, which require three times less energy than normal ones. There will even be stands, such as the Ras Abu Aboud stands, which will be dismantled after the World Cup to be awarded to other countries that require them.
