Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak said on Sunday, after the 1-1 draw against Espanyol at the Metropolitano, that his team is not "psychologically well", he understood the anger of the fans for the poor results in recent matches and remarked that "there is a lack of calm up front and that is something to do with the mentality".
"It's a draw that doesn't help us much. We've been looking for the win, we've had chances, we've done everything, but we're at a point where things aren't going our way, so of course the draw is disappointing. We deserved more, but it's football," the goalkeeper told 'Dazn'.
"It's clear that psychologically we are certainly not doing well. It's not normal what's happening to us, when psychologically you're not well, physically your body doesn't work as it should, but we've had a lot of chances. We lack calm up top and that's something to do with our menatality. Until we calm down we won't be winning or getting the results we want. You can play well or badly, you have to take your chances and we haven't been doing that lately," he said.
"First of all, it's understandable about the fans. It's normal that nobody is happy, first and foremost us, the players, but it's clear that with a better atmosphere everything is easier. But it's absolutely understandable that people are angry. You can't say much more than that. You have to do things on the pitch. Talking is useless. Until we're better on the pitch, things won't get better", the Atletico goalkeeper ended.
