Not even PSG's stars were capable of stopping Man City. Pep Guardiola's men shone and won 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium against Pochettino's side.
The defeat was a major setback for them and PSG have received lots of criticism since then.
Former Liverpool footballer Jamie Carragher told 'CBS Sports' that he thinks it is practically impossible for PSG to win this season's Champions League. "They'll never win it with Messi. He's a passenger," he said.
Carragher fully agreed with former player Rafael Van der Vaart who accused Messi of walking during the match: "I see him and I think: 'Are you not ashamed?".
In Carragher's opinion, Pochettino should get on a plane and try his luck if, as is said, he has an offer on the table. "He has to leave. If he has the opportunity to go to Manchester, I'd go if I were him and it's Messi, Neymar and Mbappe's fault," he said.
"I get frustrated watching it because with Mbappe more than anybody. I can almost understand Messi to a certain extent, he’s 34, he has to save himself for certain moments, but Mbappe is 22. He should be sprinting back and getting back helping his teammates against a top Man City team. This thing about walking around the pitch, it’s not for me," Carragher continued.

Owen Hargreaves, formerly of Man Utd, also criticised PSG and praised Man City to the skies. "It was a masterclass and that was without Foden and De Bruyne. Lionel Messi and Neymar will be walking off the pitch wishing they were representing a team that played football like that."
Even 'L'Equipe' slammed the French outfit. On Messi, the paper said it is "worrying" how easily he is beaten by defenders. They also say that Pochettino is responsible for the defeat as his game plan failed from the beginning because of Verratti's absence."
