According to an interview published by 'Le Journal du Dimanche,' the Spanish defender feels there's a link between PSG's underwhelming performances in the Champions League and the quality of opponents they face in France's top flight.
"PSG's opponent's aren't strong enough," claimed the former Real Sociedad player. "In Spain, the high level allows Barcelona, Atletico and Real Madrid to be more ready for European fixtures. Suffering at the weekend is useful preparation."
Yuri then gave his two cents on the situation of PSG's current manager: "Unai Emery is doing a great job."
Much like Thiago Silva on 'Téléfoot' on Sunday morning, the Spaniard underlined the "good work" that Emery is carrying out in the capital, despite the fact that the PSG manager is expected to part ways with the club at the end of the season.
"Here, the players come from all over, they're experienced and well-known across the globe. Managing all these egos is a very difficult job for the manager. Emery is doing a great job," declared the 28 year old.
So far this season, Paris Saint-Germain have claimed the Coupe de la Ligue, thumping Monaco 3-0 in the final. Should they beat the side from the French Riviera again on Sunday, PSG will be crowned champions of France once again.
Unai Emery's men are also still alive in the Coupe de France and will face Caen on Wednesday in the semi-finals.
