The Parc des Princes are in the midst of 'operation renewal'. Up to three players could soon be in the PSG offices, or at least that's what 'L'Equipe' claims.
PSG's plan is to renew Leo Messi, Marco Verratti and Marquinhos. The most urgent renewal is that of the Argentine, as he is the only one of the three whose contract expires in a year's time.
At PSG, although the player's entourage have repeatedly denied it, they believe that Barcelona are working on Messi's return. The 'Cule' club consider offering him his return once he is free in June 2023 and that is what the French club wants to avoid at all costs.
Leo Messi has started the season in style. He scored in PSG's 4-0 win over Nantes that clinched the French Super Cup for Galtier's side and on the opening day of Ligue 1 he scored twice more, as well as providing an assist.
For Galtier, the former Barça player is a key player, and even more so now that he has adapted to the Parisian club. The club is also looking to renew midfielder Verratti and centre-back Marquinhos, who are under contract until 2024. All three are crucial to the new coach's project.
