Regardless of the result of the Champions League final, PSG's brilliant Champions League run has led to the owners considering making ambitious signings in the current transfer window when they were originally due to spend little.

The Champions League can put an end to projects, like it did to Barca, or start them up. PSG's great Champions League run has led to the PSG owners changing their plans for the summer transfer window.

According to Abdellah Boulma, a journalist who is very close to the PSG owners, the club's Champions League perfromances has encouraged them to keep on strenghtening the squad. That is a big change in tune because the instructions sporting director Leonardo was given weeks ago was to reduces the club's expenditure.

He was going to sell Cavani and Thiago Silva. The plan was to sell players on large salaries. Now, even though exact figures have yet to be confirmed, the idea is to bring in reinforcements in several areas so that the club can keep on performing.

After several consecutive last 16 exits, the owner has finally decided that it is worth spending big on more transfers. As well as keeping Neymar and Mbappe, they could be joined by new stars. The club has done the best they have ever done in Europe despite spending less on transfers this summer.

The joy and ambition of the club kept on increasing as they knocked out Atalanta and RB Leipzig. Even Mbappe himself, always in the news because of a possible move to Real Madrid, has stepped up.

In addition, reaching the final has earned the club 15 million euros. That will help PSG get over the effects of the pandemic.
