The whole of Europe was after one of the jewels of English football. Finally it's Borussia Dortmund who announced the signing of Jude Bellingham, only 17 years old, for 25 million euros, as German sources report.
He is one of European football's most promising players and has joined a team that knows how to look after future stars. Bellingham joins an amazing project with teammates such as Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.
"Jude Bellingham chose Borussia with confidence and, of course, was concerned about the sporting perspective. He has a huge potential that we share and we want to develop it with him in the coming years," said Michael Zorc, the German club's sporting director.
Bellingham was excited and grateful after his arrival at Borussia Dortmund. "I cannot thank Birmingham City enough for what the club has done for me, not just this season, but since I came to the club when I was seven years old. Now I'm really excited about joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe," he said.
Bellingham explained why he chose Borussia Dortmund: "Because of the way they help young players improve, it was an easy decision for me and my family. I can't wait to play in one of the most beautiful stadiums in the world," he said.
Bellingham will join Borussia Dortmund on 30 July and will arrive at the training camp in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland on 10 August with the rest of his teammates. He will wear the number 22.
Borussia have finally managed to convince a player who had been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Bayern and Manchester United, who had all been following him for several years.
