Premier League sides eye Germany star

Marco Reus is thought to be considering his long-term future at Borussia Dortmund, alerting two Premier League sides as to the player's potential availability.

Reports in German claim that both Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the player, who has just 18 months left on his contract with the German giants.

The 28-year-old has struggled with fitness problems in recent times, with injuries forcing him to miss both the 2014 World Cup and 2016 European Championships and he is currently out with a cruciate knee ligament problem that is expected to sideline him until next year.

Despite his injury woes, the German recently opened the door to a potential move abroad in an interview with 'GQ', putting the 'Gunners' and the 'Red Devils' on high alert.

Reus told the men's magazine: 'There are four or five international clubs who interest me.

'On May 31 next year, I will turn 30. That would be my last big contract and a final opportunity to try something different'.

'Sky Germany' quickly reported that Reus was in the sights of both Premier League sides but given that he plays predominantly off the left, where United already have Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford to call upon, a move to Arsenal would appear to make more sense. The Germany international would be a redy-made replacement for Alexis Sanchez, who is expected to move on for pastures new sooner rather than later.

Whoever does sign Reus will be getting a quality player, with the forward having featured in the Bundesliga's Team of the Year on no fewer than five occasions.

Any interested parties will face a tough battle for his signature though, with Dortmund's sporting director Michael Zorc recently insisting that the club 'see Marco with us in the long run'.
