Premier League opposed to being a priority for vaccinations

'The Guardian' indicates that the Premier League does not want to be a priority when it comes to the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines in England. If a private company tempts a club to provide them, the championship organisers will strongly oppose it.

The Premier League is aware that when COVID-19 vaccinations are ready to be distributed in England, players should not be a priority. 'The Guardian' says it is clear to the tournament organisers that they will not be asking for special treatment.

The idea is that the cure will be administered first to those most affected by the pandemic. It is hoped that the UK government will provide these free of charge, in part, through its health system and focus on health workers and groups at greatest risk of dying from infection.

In fact, the source reports that, should any private company contact a club to try to supply doses, there will be strong opposition from the top levels of the league. The plan is for all clubs to agree.

Those who could start receiving the vaccines are the fans. The Premier League has in mind that the fans will return to the stadiums little by little depending on the incidence of the coronavirus in each city. This measure has been criticised by both Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Leeds United's Marcelo Bielsa.
