Premier League clubs call for Florentino Perez to scrap ESL

The European Super League lasted just 72 hours. Since the competition was officially created, nine of the 12 teams have backed out. 

UEFA won that battle, but those nine teams are still sticking together. The six Premier League teams, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham, have made a request to Super League president Florentino Perez. 

According to 'ESPN', the six English sides will get in contact with Inter Milan, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid to ask them to get behind their plans. 

The request is for Perez to formally dissolve the company created specifically for the Super League. The name of the company has yet to come to light. 

This process could last week or even months because there is talk of the clubs against the ESL taking Madrid, Barca and Juve to court. This will depend on what the trio of clubs do. 

Real Madrid, whose president is Florentino Perez, Barcelona, even with Laporta's arrival, and Andrea Agnelli's Juventus are still in favour of the project. 

This will provoke more division between the three clubs in favour of the Super League and the rest. 

Agnelli still defends the idea of a Super League and Barcelona will ask their 'socios' (club members) to vote on it on 4th July.
