With four away sides failing to score, was this weekend the worst ever for fans travelling to see their teams on the road?

Match ticket? £45. Bus journey? £70. Official souvenir programme? £3. Failing to see your team score? Devastating.

That is exactly what was in store on Saturday for Sunderland fans who travelled 348 miles to watch their side face Swansea City, as well as Tottenham supporters who visited Old Trafford 198 miles away to see their team lose to Manchester United.

In fact, a similar fate befell four Premier League sides this weekend, as away teams capitulated in every single top flight game in England.

Of the 10 matches played on Saturday and Sunday, no away team picked up a win, with three sides losing 1-0 and Sunderland falling to a 3-0 defeat.

Aside from draws between Hull City and Crystal Palace as well as Liverpool and West Ham United, every other game was a home victory, With away teams picking up just two points from 10 games, it surely was one of the worst weekends for travelling.

In total, supporters would have had to travel 2,155 miles from their home ground to the away stadium to get to games - as well as the same distance back, but on a much more solemn and disappointied return trip.
