The proposal by Ashton Gate Ltd plans to redevelop the exisiting Ashton Gate stadium, as well as building a brand new 4,000 capacity venue for basketball team Bristol flyers at is core. The project also aims to add housing, office spaces, a multi-storey car park ,and two hotels as part of a regeneration of the area.
After a successful £45 million development of the stadium in 2016 Chair of Ashton Gate, Martin Griffiths, said that it was always an ambiton to further develop the wider community.
Following Tuesday's announcement of the plans he said: "It has been more than two years in the planning to ensure that Phase II of Ashton Gate's redevelopment into a city quarter focused on sport and entertainment was indeed viable, sustainable and most importantly achievable".
An extensive consultation process will now begin before the project can be put in motion.
