After a goalless first half, Denmark drew first blood in the second half of their tie with Peru, scoring in the 59th minute.
Minutes after Peru wasted a big chance, Denmark made full use of their own opportunity on the counter. Christian Eriksen put in some excellent work, shuttling it upfield on the break, and using the space to great effect.
He then laid it on for Yussuf Poulsen. The forward made no mistake from the edge of the area. The RB Leipzig striker side-footed it past Pedro Gallese, before wheeling off to celebrate in delight.
