Portugal team-mate backs Ronaldo for Premier League return

Ronaldo has beeen linked with a move away from the Bernabeu since being accused of tax fraud by Spanish prosecutors. Reports continue to link him with a move to fromer club Manchester United.
In an interview with 'Sky Sports News', Ronaldo's Portugal team-mate Raul Meireles backed the 32-year-old for a Premier League return saying that "he was very successful in the Premier League so I think that if he does not want to stay at Real Madrid, or he wants to leave, then the Premier League is the right place for him to be."
Meireles was then ased about where his fellow Portuguese could end up, to which he replied "He played before at Manchester United, so it could be them, but I think any team...Chelsea? I do not know, but he can play for any team in the Premier League."
Ronaldo is currently away on international duty with Portugal, ahead of their Confederations Cup semi-final tomorrow night against Chile.
