Pogba to stay? Pogba to go? Pogba to Barca? Pogba to Madrid? The future of the World Cup winning Manchester United midfielder remains unknown, although there are continuing reasons to believe that he may well be playing in Spain next year. Pogba's third season at United has been a mixed one, with 37 games played, 14 goals and 11 assists.
In total, the Frenchman has played 132 times for Manchester United since joining from Juventus in 2016 and has celebrated a goal on 29 occassions. In the last few days however, there are rumours circulating about Pogba's future, with links to both Barcelona and Real Madrid from many different sources appearing worldwide.
But this Saturday, 'Marca', announced that Mino Raiola (Pogba's agent) is to have Pogba in the White jersey of Real Madrid this summer, meeting up with fellow French World Cup winner, albeit from 20 years before, Zinedine Zidane. The same Spanish media have also said that Pogba wants to join the Spanish giants, although not necessarily this summer.
Manchester United are very unlikely to let Pogba go easily as they feel he is vital to the team as they look to rebuild for the future after a tumultuous period under Jose Mourinho. United paid a then record fee for Pogba in 2016 of 105 million euros, despite being valued at 70 million and the player's value has shot up since then with the inflated transfer market prices seeing Pogba valued at around 90 million euros.
The main issue for Madrid will be Pogba's wage, which will likely need to be at least equalled (if not increased) for the United talisman to consider a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. It is unkown whether Pogba would be willing to sacrifice his enormous wages to play at Zidane's Real.
Assuming his wage is equalled and he joins Madrid, Pogba will have immediately be in the top 3 best paid players at Madrid, behind only Gareth Bale and Sergio Ramos.
