Deschamps expressed his sympathy towards the world's most expensive player, saying that people expect too much of him because of his price tag.
However, Pogba's national manager has said that the United midfielder must stop trying to do extraordinary things on the pitch and focus solely on the team.
"Even when he does things well it's not good enough," Deschamps told French radio station 'RMC'. "So we can understand that it may encourage him to do things that are out of the ordinary but not necessarily helpful.
"He can do things that others do not, but it must also be the reality of what is good for the team. We're talking about a young player. He is at a club where he is also used in different positions".
Pogba has shown glimpses of his talent since rejoining Manchester United, the highlight being his sweetly struck volley against Swansea. However, the Frenchman has struggled for cosistency, scoring four goals and assisting team-mates on just one occasion in 19 appearances since his big-money move from Juventus in the summer.
