Paul Pogba is one of those players who has never played for Real Madrid, but who has been on their shortlist for a long time. Mbappe has already been on this path, which, in recent months, has seen him turn down several offers to renew his contract at PSG. Teammates of noble status, such as Neymar, have already put their signatures to their names.
The newspaper 'Marca' ventures to conclude that the midfielder is considering continuing along this route to multiply his chances of signing for Spain. In his case, this is to deflect any attempt by Manchester United to extend his current deal. That expires in June 2022, when he will become a free agent.
The difference with the striker is that the latter's move to LaLiga is bordering on becoming official this summer rather than aiming for next summer. It plays in favour of 'Los Blancos' that, if not now, it is quite likely that, in a year's time, they and the striker will be back at the negotiating table to bring him in.
Pogba, on the other hand, is not likely to join Real Madrid any time soon. In the meantime, he has started the 2021-22 season in the Premier League at a high level that follows on from his outstanding form for the French national team. It has already been leaked that he does not plan to announce his future until 2022 stains the calendar.
