'TMW' claims that Pepe Reina has breathed a sigh of relief that the investigation opened in to him for alleged contacts with the criminal organization have come to nothing.
The player was accused of trying to get members of the Lo Russo family, well known to be members of the mafia, free tickets to Napoli home games.
His lawyer Luciano Ruggiero Malagnini put forward that the case was inadmissable, and so the Federal Court decided that Reina should be released without charge.
The Spanish goalkeeper has also left Napoli to join AC Milan, with the transfer being revealed just hours after this verdict had been announced.
The keeper made 47 appareances for Napoli last season in all competitions, and was a part of Spain's World Cup squad in Russia this summer, but did not make an appearance for 'La Roja' in the tournament.
