Pellegrini's Betis make their best in nearly a decade

This Real Betis side seem like they can't put a foot wrong. Manuel Pellegrini's team won with ease against Valencia at the Mestalla and took their points tally to nine from their first five games, their best start in nearly a decade.

Betis have secured their best start to a league campaign since the 2011-12 season when Betis won their first four games and took 12 points from a possible first 15.

That year, the side that was coached by Pepe Mel and included players such as Beñat, Roque Santa Cruz, and Ruben Castro went top of the table for two weeks. In the case of this Betis team, they had briefly ended up top three weeks into the season despite a loss to Getafe.

The slip-up against Getafe was a big blow to Manuel Pellegrini's new project, but this last victory has dispelled the ghosts a left the team with positive vibes as they go into the international break.
