Pellegrini lauds youngster Grady Diangana after double
Manuel Pellegrini had used the game as an opportunity to blood some of his younger talent against the club placed in 24th, right at the foot of the football league. Diangana, despite the lowly opposition thoroughly impressed the former Manchester City manager with his goals and contribution.
Speaking after the game the Chilean said of Diangana, who is eligible for England and the DR Congo: "I'm pleased for him because the only thing I demand from young players is when they get the opportunity to take the opportunity. He did really well,"
"One of the things I asked the club is to bring the U23s to the same training ground we use. Last month we started to do that so it's easy for me to see their performance.
"He's a young player and he must improve on a lot of things to be a top player, but he's working hard and doing well and if he continues with the personality he showed today I think he will improve a lot."
After their drubbing of the lower league side, West Ham look to be setting off on a much improved run of form. They started the season with four consecutive Premier League defeats, however they have arrested this slip with an impressive 3-1 away win at Everton and a gutsy 0-0 draw against Chelsea.
