The playmaker is one of those rare footballers who makes everything look like a walk in the park, something he demonstrated once again against Guingamp to break the deadlock.
With the ball dropping out of the air 25 yards out on an awkward angle and sprinting to meet it few players would consider taking on such a strike.
However, Payet is no normal player and not only did he take aim, but he produced a stunning side-footed volley without breaking stride that fizzed over the head of the helpless opposition goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
The technique alone was something to be admired, with Payet clearly keen to continue his fine form from last season when he scored 10 goals and laid on 23 assists in 47 games. To date he has registered three goals and two assists this term.
